Good Ol’ Boys

// 07.26.05

Just the good ol’ boys,
Never meanin’ no harm,
Beats all you’ve ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Straight’nin’ the curve,
Flat’nin’ the hills.
Someday the moutain might get ‘em, but the law never will.

Makin’ their way,
The only way they know how,
That’s just a little bit more than the law will allow.

Just good ol’ boys,
Wouldn’t change if they could,
Fightin’ the system like a true modern day Robin Hood.

DeLoreans rock…

// 07.25.05

…and so does this tee. So, what else do I need to say about it?… Just look at it!

In memory of
John Z. DeLorean
January 6, 1925 - March 19, 2005

Head over to American Still Life and pick yourself up one today. A shirt that is, not a DeLorean.

Welcome to Disturbia

// 07.25.05

Distrubia Clothing inspired this question. Who said this? Elvis Presley or Travis Bickle?
“June twenty-ninth. I gotta get in shape. Too much sitting has ruined my body. Too much abuse has gone on for too long. From now on there will be 50 pushups each morning, 50 pullups. There will be no more pills, no more bad food, no more destroyers of my body. From now on will be total organization. Every muscle must be tight.”

Are you spiteful?

// 07.24.05

Okay, one more tee with something Asian on it then I swear, it’s out of my system for a while…

In addition to having some nice tees, including this tee that says “bad luck” in Japanese*, Spitefuls is working on a selection of greeting cards that say exactly what you wanna say, way better than any Hallmark you get at the grocery store ever will. You know… things like “Sorry, I fucked up” or “Sorry, I’m an asshole”

Oh yeah, all shirts are now on sale for 12 bucks…

*Some guy somewhere probably has this tattooed on him and thinks it really says bravery or something. Be careful if you wanna get a Japanese tat. Some of those dudes are spiteful, they’ll mess with you and write “little dick” or something on your chest…

“The Nuts”

// 07.24.05

With the recent explosion of poker addicts everywhere - you’ve got the World Series of Poker on ESPN, World Poker Tour on The Travel Channel, a bunch of lame celebrity games on whatever channel will have them, poker cruises and home games all across the country - it’s no surprise that there are some clothing lines catering specifically to players and posers, err… I mean fans. The best I’ve seen by far is “The Nuts” (meaning an unbeatable hand) among other great vintage style poker themed tees at Kowboys.

Elbow Deep

// 07.23.05

Molgam is some kind of bizarre anti-corporation that was founded “to bring proven empirical excellence to an audience hitherto blinded by hillbilly science” What exactly they mean by that, I have no idea. But they do have some excellent tee designs presented in little petri dishes on their site, but most awe-inspiring is their “Nokia” sweatshirt that looks like someone that has had their arms elbow deep in the carcass of some endangered species getting a spleen for some witch doctor impotence cure. The looks you would get wearing this walking down the street would be priceless. (look under “something special” in the shop section to find this)

Shirty Awards #2

// 07.22.05

There was a lot of stiff competition for this award, I’ll post ‘em all up later, but let’s just skip right to the winner…

And the Shirty for “Best Corporate Logo Remix” goes to… (drum roll) Fabricali, for their stellar reworking of The North Face’s logo. Congratulations Fabricali! (Roaring applause) Looks like this is their only tee available right now, but if you’re only selling one, it better be this good…

Just try not to make your acceptance speech as long as MOB did. And in English please. I didn’t understand one single German word they said… (nah, just kidding, they were stoked about their award.)

Got a tee you’d like to nominate for a Shirty or a category you’d like The TeeJunkie to pick a winner for? Send me a link here. (remove [NO_SPAM])

Battle of the Backpacks

// 07.22.05

So my ratty, green Jansport backpack needs to be replaced, but everything I see around is pretty generic or frat-boy-ish, but not this shit. Check out these limited editions from Eastpak. The first one by “Seen” is real cool, but so is the skulls one. I’m usually not too big on skulls, but these kind are alright.

But I’m really leaning towards this red one covered in guns, grenades, hammers, screwdrivers, all kinds of crazy shit… awesome.

Update: Okay, so I guess I should’ve looked where these places would ship to. I guess if you’re in the States, you’re shit outta luck on those. But here’s some other worthy options…
Two Eastpak Vs. Mysterious Al limited editions, Zombie Meat-Eaters and a different style of that red weapons one…

Find some of those and others here, here (they’ve got the skull one), here and here.

Imaginary Foundation

// 07.22.05

Being a graphic designer, I was all over these tees from Imaginary Foundation.

“Creator” has got a manic mix going on - punkish pink splatters, intricate rope scroll-ish design at the bottom and flocking on the text.

…and I’m not sure what kind of printing / application / whatever process they use on this “Bullets to Brushes” tee, but it’s crazy. It’s super thick and rubbery - not to make it sound weird or anything though, it’s cool. Definitely different.

Holy Krud!

// 07.21.05

KrudMart is one of those kind of tee shops that threatens to overdraw my bank account when I go there. Not only do they carry tees by tons of cool brands, but they’ve got KrudMart exclusives like this ODB tribute tee, vinyl toys, hats, bags, prints, stickers, music…

I’m hooked. They should call it KrackMart.
