Satan’s peach fuzz

// 09.30.05

I was considering awarding a Shirty for the best vintage tee at some point, but decided “fuck that”, there’s not really enough really good examples to make it interesting… so, I’ll just get on with one of the best “vintage” style brands out there. Aside from the fact that they have several excellent designs (and they’re buy 2 get 1 free), word is they are some of the softest tees around. I can’t vouch for that though. But Waffo says they are made of “soft rayon based polyesters and triple ring spun combed cottons mixed in with black magic.” And there are even rumors of them taking “the peach fuzz off the belly of the DEVIL HIMSELF!!! and add[ing] a bit to each of our t-shirts.” Whoa…

A nice combo for 40 bucks would be this William Blake one, the Joshua Tree and either Vincent Van Gogh or Afghanistan…

nice pants.

// 09.29.05

This one’s for my homeboy Joe who likes expensive jeans and thrift shop shirts. Well actually, it’s for all you Joes out there that are willing to throw down 170 bucks for a pair of jeans… Not me man, I’m wearin’ Old Navy or Levis I find on the clearance racks… but whatever, this True Religion denim does look cooler than what’s hangin’ in my closet.

Possessed

// 09.28.05

Well kids, the grocery stores are all stocked up on candy and cheap-ass accessories like the candy bowls with skeleton hands that grab you when you stick your hand in, so I guess now’s a good time to give you a bit of a heads up for a horror themed tee… so you can get it in plenty of time for Halloween… not that these aren’t freakishly great anytime. Anyway, Fright-Rags has a few new designs they just introduced, including this awesome Exorcist tee - and now ’til Halloween (10.31.05 just to be clear) they’re knocking 10% everything on the site for TeeJunkie readers.

The coupon code is TEEJUNKIE10

Dr. Klein: Do you keep any drugs in your house?
Chris MacNeil: No, of course not, nothing like that.
Dr. Klein: Are you sure?
Chris MacNeil: Well, of course I’m sure. I’d tell you. Christ, I don’t even smoke grass.

Finally…

// 09.27.05

Alright, I’ve still got more music tees, but I’ll just get on with the winner and save the others for another day. So… the Shirty for “Best Music Related Tee” goes to… (drum roll) Tenth Division for their “Maintain Your Faith” tee with it’s cross of vinyl! (roaring applause)

It came down to these two tees. But in the end, the vinyl one beats out the I [heart] my record collection one. But they’re both from Tenth Division, so I guess it doesn’t really matter.

This tee reminds me of this song by this guy called “Marc with a C” about his love of vinyl and thrift shop finds. It has a line that goes something like: “It’ll cost ya twenty dollars for some Avril Lavigne, but for a dollar I’ll take Tapestry by Carol King.” and something about Kurt Cobain knowing music sounds best on vinyl and the Black Nirvana record having an extra track…

- Actually, these guys have got several cool tees. Check out the “City Love” tees too if the record tees aren’t your thing.

Cheap Hoody

// 09.26.05

Well, it’s officially fall now… I think. Anyway, it shouldn’t be long until hoody weather now. Maybe it already is where you’re at, but it was in the mid-90s here in Dallas today. That shit gets old, man.

So… anybody wear a size large hoody? If so, here’s a sweet find in Jedidiah’s closeout section. Only 21 bucks… available in black or navy, but size L only. You can’t zoom in very close on the site, but it looks like it has that sketchy hand-drawn look I dig so much. So for less than the price of most blank hoodies, there ya go…

* The “Stripes” polo in the closeout section is pretty cool too.

yup.

// 09.25.05

Well isn’t that cute? All I’ve got to say about this one from Shadow Plastic is… yeah, who doesn’t?

Check out the “mashup” tee with Robots Will Kill at the bottom of the home page too.

Also, hit up the new poll going over there -> and let us know if you’d like to see us cover anything, besides the obvious of course.

Respect

// 09.24.05

In honor of Robert Moog, who passed away recently at the age of 71 of a brain tumor, here are a few tees honoring his great creations - without them, music as we know it from electronica to pop, wouldn’t be the same.

Rest in peace, Mr. Moog… and thanks.

(Also a pretty cool Mini Moog coffee mug too…)

Another Nominee

// 09.23.05

Alright, I’ll stop with the nominees and announce the winner soon, but I had to go ahead and post this “Sound System” tee up. ISO50 recently launched their new line (so be sure to check the whole collection out), which would’ve made a solid post in itself, but this one was just fitting with the music kick I’ve been on.

So… there ya go. I’ll move on soon, I swear…

oh, who am I kidding? I’ve got several more music tees that I really wanna post.

Dual Purpose Post

// 09.22.05

I finally got around to watching Bubba Ho-Tep last night. If you haven’t seen it, you should. What better premise for a movie is there than Elvis growing old in an East Texas nursing home, along with a black JFK and a zombie on the loose that sucks souls out of old people’s assholes to stay alive? I know that might not sound good, but it’s fuckin’ brilliant…

The movie starts with Elvis laying in bed… “I was dreamin’. Dreamin’ my dick was out and I was checkin’ to see if that infected bump on the head of it had filled with pus again. If it had, I was gonna name it after my ex-wife Priscilla and bust it by jackin’ off. Or I’d like to think that’s what I’d do. Dreams let you think like that. Truth was, I hadn’t had a hard-on in years.” - wow.

So I like to think that if Elvis was still around, he’d still be a pretty hip cat. Therefore, this tee with the King behind the turntables gets a nomination for the best music Shirty coming up too…

Utopia?

// 09.21.05

Sex, Drugs & Solar Energy - sweet! But, hey, what about the Rock ‘n Roll?! I’m all for renewable, eco-friendly energy sources, but not at the cost of losing Rock ‘n Roll. Can we just settle for a nice hybrid with satellite radio?…

And before anybody jumps my ass for posting a store instead of the designer, looks like the tag on this shirt says “Matter”, but all I found when I google “Matter Clothing” was some skydiving gear maker or some shit…
