Alright, political activist I’m not. Hell, come to think of it, I guess the only thing I am proactive in supporting is independent tee designers (and independent music). And while I would never suggest that anybody not vote - I always do, normally for the loser, but whatever - I gotta say, with the last couple of farces I mean, elections, you people that say your vote doesn’t count… that didn’t hurt your case any.

So here ya go, just doing my part in supporting some change around here - COTAM (Clothing of the American Mind) - hmm, maybe it should be COTNEAWAM (Clothing of the Northeast and West American Mind). I dunno. Doesn’t roll off the tongue as nicely, but it’s more accurate. Anyway, if you like wearing your heart on your sleeve… or chest, and want some of your cash to go to forward thinking, liberal-supporting groups like MoveOn, this is your place. Never too early to start preparing for the next fake election…

I’m not really sure what it is I’m seeing here that makes me wanna spend 30 Euros… but this shirt “King of Kings by Niko for Rask” with it’s manic graff style has something about it that I really dig… And I don’t even like tees with huge prints on them.

Fresh Cotton (from Germany I guess? Amsterdam, my bad) carries a variety of brands that you can find a lot of places, skate brands and such, but they also have a nice line of their own and stuff like this you probably won’t find anywhere near where you live. Check it out… but don’t look around too much, they’ve got other stuff I wanna post, but I don’t want you to have already seen it, okay? So just go look at the Rask ones that are featured on the homepage…

Alright, let me just start with an apology for posting a shirt from Hot Topic. Normally, I wouldn’t even consider it, but it’s fitting… and fuck it, I like it.

So I’m standing outside work smoking a cigarette and the conversation is on someone accidently running over a puppy or something and this lady says, “Did you hear on the radio this morning about the squirrels in London that are addicted to crack? Apparently they find baggies and stashes and stuff, eat it and now there’s a major problem with cracked out, aggresive squirrels.” So I figure, that’s gotta be bullshit, right? So I look it up. Yup, bullshit started in a forum a few years ago or something and the story has made it’s way to the Fox News site, British news and now, all the way to Dallas morning radio apparently. Just goes to show what a reliable, thoroughly-investigated media system we have here. Makes you sleep easy at night, doesn’t it?

But if there were some doped up squirrels, they’d be working for Willy Wonka for sure. At least squirrels hopped up on chocolate, which would probably be bad enough.

Someone asked if I knew where to get a skeleton hoodie like in Donnie Darko, but I’m pretty sure he was wearing a kinda baggy skeleton jumpsuit with a gray hoodie over it. Right? Anyway, that reminded me to go look at Fit For Use because I remembered them having a shirt with a pelvic bone that I’ve been planning on posting for quite a while, but check out this new one they’ve got. Had to post this one…

They’ve got a nice little glow in the dark ghost one too. Just in time for Halloween.

Oh shit! I forgot about this until I posted that Kitty-Yo link yesterday… this dude, Nick Jones, sent me a link to his flickr images of some of his artwork that he puts on some handmade tees. I can’t believe I forgot to post your stuff, sorry bro. But anyway, if there has ever been a hand-painted or iron-on shirt or whatever, that I really, really want to see get a nice proper screenprinting, this is it. Look around his photos, he’s got some great ones, maybe if we all ask nicely he’ll set up a shop…

Alright, so by now you’ve probably noticed I go on and on about music and music related tees sometimes. Maybe you just wish I’d shut the fuck up about music sometimes, I dunno. So while I’m on the subject this time, how ’bout a little shameless self plug while I’m at it? A few friends and I started running an independent music review site last year sometime called JustAddNoise. We’ve been on a bit of an extended hiatus for a while now, but I’ve got it going again in the form of an mp3 blog now with a daily review and download (working on getting all the archives back up too). Check it out, get some free tracks and buy yourself some decent music for christ’s sake! Anyway, this tee from Kitty-Yo is for The Tape vs. RQM, I reviewed their record quite a while back and I remember saying something like, lose all the vocals and I’d score it a full point higher, or something like that. Not a great CD, but a pretty nicely designed tee anyway…

If the tracks are on my server, I take them down after a week so they don’t get permalinked anywhere, and to cut down the chances of getting prosecuted I guess, but I’ll leave that one up another day. Alright, I got a request a while back to post some kid shirts, and I know I’ve been a bit neglectful to the ladies… so here’s one post to appease the masses. Not that they can ever really be satisfied, but whatever. And here’s a few strange observances going on this month. Bet you dudes didn’t know about these… (mention one to your chick and it might score you some points) Pregnancy & Infant Awareness month, Healthier Babies Month, SIDS Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month and of course, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

But then again, not to take anything away from the seriousness of all that shit, but it’s also Seafood Month, Pizza Month and most importantly… Sarcastic Awareness Month. I’m not shittin’ you. That’s for real.

Oh, almost forgot to plug the site to get the shirts. Got sidetracked there… Squidfire and their line of kids and baby stuff is called Shrimpfire. Cool stuff to have your money spent for you on, I guess…
