I never thought I’d end up suggesting Armani know their arse from their elbow, but in this case, they seem to have sorted out their anatomy. Venezuela, led by Hugo Chavez who’s a bit of a political maverick, is also home to a bloody huge petroleum industry and so much biodiversity it’s amazing they can fit it in, isn’t – surprisingly – rich in T-shirt designers.

Personally I think that’s bloody weird. I mean, if you have a country that is swilling with cute and cuddly wildlife that you could portray on tees, and equally sloshing with petro-dollars in the pockets of blokes who work for long periods on drilling rigs and oil pipelines and stuff – yeah I know nothing about petroleum so bite me – wouldn’t you expect said blokes to be spending said money on T-shirts, among other things?

Me too. Anyway, enter Armani. Actually enter Andinistas Fonts a gang of quadruple-barrel-named blokes who design fonts. Nice fonts. And one of those fonts ends up on this T-shirt by the Italian bloke.

I’m not entirely sure what you call the neck of the tee – teardrop vee perhaps? Anyway we all have our opinions on men who wear V-necks and mine is that they might as well put their man-boobs into c-cups and call themselves Cheryl, but that apart, this glyph actually does manage to lift the shirt from naff to good. Not outstanding, nothing that shows chest hair in a cleavage can ever be outstanding imo, but good. And that’s impressive, given the starting point. Nice colourways too. Shame they didn’t have the sense to use a sensible neckline.

Venezuela is great. I’m not coming home.
