Gaming T-shirt: Team Fortress 2
Wednesday, June 17, 2009 12:59Gotta love a good game, and when two of your flatmates are studying game design, you get to learn the ins and outs of games fast, although ten hour discussions of rendering could leave you drilling out your brains and replacing them with Pot Noodle, believe me.
But while I might not know everything about games, I could lecture on good Tee design, so debates chez Mikey can be pretty heated, don’t cha know …
One game/tee combo we can all agree on is the multiplayer Team Fortress 2 and the T-shirt put out by Valve.

Okay, if you don’t know it, this is a multiplayer first person shooter game with some excellent wheezes. For example, is Pyro male or female or … something in between?
The cartoon styling gives it a comic book appeal and the character names: The Spy, Pyro etc as well as the two teams—Reliable Excavation & Demolition (RED) and Builders League United (BLU) make it universal in appeal. For many years it was thought to be vapourware: and the likelihood of it ever reaching production was hotly debated on the top gamer sites like Game-Hub but after six years of nada, it made it to the stores and has been a top-hitter ever since, being one of the hottest topics of video game news.
The gamer community is a world apart, and not always noted for its good clothing sense—you cannot find a good World of Warcraft T-shirt for love, money or bonus points, for example—but most gamers seem to agree that Team Fortress 2 gets most of it right, most of the time. And it is an excellent T-shirt design, on charcoal rather than black, which is unusual for game Tees, with a strong visual appeal, especially that stunning blood spatter which looks like the real deal.
Post by Mikey who still thinks Wii is a hilarious name for a device …

Finally a TF2 shirt without a logo or some other unnecessary text and a great looking print at that. Thank you for sharing this.
