The “Hang on lads, I’ve got a great idea …” T-shirt
Saturday, July 18, 2009 5:20Made famous by The Italian Job. The original with Michael Caine, not the crappy remake. Driven with pride by thousands of British men and women, all with a sunburned right arm from hanging it out the window. Remastered by Chunk. This IS the T-shirt for the summer. In pillar box red, which is the only red to wear in summer, this Mini Cooper tee is the business.

It has everything a tee-shirt should have: retro appeal, a subliminal appeal reflected in the windscreen in those sunny palm tree, 100% cotton so it doesn’t smell skanky if the summer holds. Beautiful, truly beautiful.
Just to digress a bit – why are there so many crappy remakes of good films? It makes me want to write a screenplay, it really does. No, don’t worry, I’m joking. But a T-shirt movie, that would be good: The Good, The Bad and the Scoop-neck maybe or Snow White and the Seven T-shirts, or The Exorcist II – this time with Lycra … what do you reckon? Got any more?
