Okay, not as tacky as that heading makes it sound. And most Christmas Tees are pretty tacky, to be honest. So what’s a girl to wear if she wants a festively appropriate but also sophisticated T-shirt?

This offering from Shirt City is the answer. And if you’re a tacky person (and let’s be honest, Christmas hokum gets to most of us, most of the time) you can even have it personalised. But I really don’t advise it because this is one of those designs that works perfectly just as it is – a black and white image on a red background is season appropriate, the image combines boldness with delicacy in a way that few T-shirt designers manage to pull off successfully, and there’s nothing either tacky, or hokey, about the concept or the way it looks when worn.

While it would work well for men or kidlets, I can’t help thinking of this as a quintessentially female T-shirt and one that could be worn to open gifts on the day, out to meet friends or into a more formal evening event without looking out of place. A definite Christmas winner!
