My thanks to a teejunkie reader who tipped me off about Galilee Silks Fashions – yes, you were right, Annie, I would never have browsed this shop for myself in a million years!

So what was it that Annie thought I’d like? T-shirts, natch. And it’s the beauty of their silk appliqué work on poly-cotton Tees that is the real reason I’ve fallen in love with the website, and with this T-shirt in particular.

Called Pomegranates and Sheaves (okay, actually called Pommegranates and Sheaves but I’m not going to teach them to spell in case they insist on teaching me to sew) it’s got delicate but rich colour shading in the appliquéd fruits and because the silk from which the appliqué is made is hand-dyed, each t-shirt is unique.

I just adore the balance between the simplicity of the design and the innate subtlety of the silk detailing and I can imagine that wearing this T-shirt would harvest you a fine crop of compliments!
